Fellini 100 – Immortal Genius

Fellini 100 – Immortal Genius

On the occasion of the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth, the Italian Cultural Institute participates in the initiatives that, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, want to pay homage to the Maestro of Italian cinema.

Director and film scholar Marco Bertozzi takes us on a virtual tour of the exhibition "Fellini 100 – Immortal Genius" at Castel Sismondo in Rimini, Fellini's birthplace.

The exhibition, organized by the municipality of Rimini and curated by Studio Azzurro, with Marco Bertozzi and Anna Villa, aims at recreating the world and imagination of Fellini through unpublished or never before displayed materials -- such as drawings, interviews, costumes, scripts -- and from Fellini's film sequences, alongside contemporary non-fiction documents, thus leading to an analysis of the myths and media perceptions created thanks to the work of the great director.

An open construction site, a work in progress towards the future Federico Fellini International Museum, which will open in Rimini in December 2020, with branches  in the same Castel Sismondo, in the mythical cinema Fulgor and in the urban path that connects the two historical buildings. In May the exhibition will move to Rome (at Palazzo Venezia) and subsequently to Los Angeles, Moscow and Berlin.
