The fourth and last installment of the webinar series devoted to the Italian contributions to innovation and sustainability will focus on the rapidly-changing world of Fashion. What is the meaning of sustainable fashion? What is its relationship with ethics, especially after the Covid-19 contingency? These and many other issues will be tackled by some of the main executives currently at the forefront of rethinking the fashion industry.

Massimo Ferragamo is the Chairman of Ferragamo USA, which distributes Ferragamo products throughout North America. After studying Law at the University of Florence, Mr Ferragamo moved to New York in 1985 to take the position of President of Ferragamo USA, and the position of Chairman in 2000. Mr Ferragamo serves as a Board member of the Ferragamo Group, the Lungarno Hotels, and the American Italian Cancer Foundation. He received honorary awards from the National Italian American Foundation in Washington DC and the Fondazione Italia USA.

Julie Gilhart is a fashion industry veteran known for her keen sense for recognizing potential talent in the fashion industry and helping them to grow. She founded Julie Gilhart Consulting in 2011 with the aim of supporting fashion brands that want to have a positive impact on the planet and society. In 2019, she merged her business with Tomorrow Consulting, where she is now President. Among many other things, she helped establish Amazon Fashion, as well as the inaugural LVMH Prize for Emerging Talent. She advised on the International Woolmark Prize and the CFDA + Lexus Fashion* Initiative, and the LVMH DARE (Disrupt Act Risk Entrepreneur) Green event dedicated to sustainable development issues.

Sara Maino is deputy director of Vogue Italia and head of Vogue Talents, an international project created with Franca Sozzani in 2009 to scout and support the best emerging creative talents in womenswear, menswear, accessories as well as fashion photography around the world. A regular attendee at global talent spotting committees, Maino serves as a judge in several fashion competitions, including the LVMH prize, the International Talent Support (ITS), Woolmark Prize, Fashion Trust Arabia and many more. Since 2018 she has been the International Brand Ambassador for Camera Nazionale della moda Italiana, with the goal of promoting and supporting Made in Italy.

Marina Spadafora stylist and entrepreneur, after designing a famous experimental Knitwear collection, and collaborating with Prada, Miu Miu, Ferragamo and Marni, since 2007 she has dedicated herself to ethical fashion projects, from Banqu to Cangiari, to development initiatives for Africa with Franca Sozzani, and she has been creative director at Altromercato for the Auteurs du Monde line. Professor of ethical fashion at academies in Italy and abroad, she is the Italian coordinator of Fashion Revolution, an international movement that fights for a fair, transparent, responsible fashion industry. In 2015, she was the recipient of the United Nations Women together Award in New York, and held a Ted Talk.
