The event will involve Italian researchers who work in the fields of plant biology, climate sciences, and social sciences, in collaboration with research institutes in Africa and Asia. Their research experiences will provide insights into the role of interdisciplinary, collaborative, and inclusive research in achieving goals 2,4,13 and 17 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Speakers

Scientific research plays a key role in achieving sustainable development goals. The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated how science, emerging technologies, and scientific communication provide vital resources to face global challenges. UNESCO has defined 2022 as the International Year of Basic Research for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD2022) to emphasize the importance of basic research.
