Qualcosa nel modo in cui sbadiglia di Jolanda Renga

“Then I would lie down, close my eyes, and try to imagine the sensation of the world closing over me, while I remained motionless and waited for it to end, to discover what the inside was like, to see if, at least there, I could take a break from the noise and the silence, and from myself.

I understood it from the way he looked at me, always searching for something that was missing, and that would always be missing, because even if I had given him the world, then he would have wanted the sky.”

Jolanda Renga tackles the theme of emotional education through Giaele, her protagonist, who begins the ascent of her own heart hoping to reach the summit to learn, before anyone else, to love herself.

JOLANDA RENGA, nineteen years old, a recent high school graduate, she is grappling with the difficult decision of ‘what to do when she grows up.’ A voracious reader, music lover, a sensitive girl active in social causes, she uses her social media profiles to speak out, with honesty and courage, on topics such as body shaming, bullying, and cyberbullying, and has also become an ambassador for the Fare x Bene association. She has a dog named Bugo, a boyfriend, and loves salted caramel ice cream. And she can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
