“Back to the Roots”
Conference
A conference focusing on travel as a powerful tool for promoting cultural, environmental, and culinary heritage.
“Back to the Roots” highlights the Italian language as a gateway to rediscovering cultural roots and heritage. The event also aims to foster connections between educators, cultural leaders, and institutions while celebrating Italy’s rich Eno gastronomic traditions through curated tastings and networking opportunities.
“Talking about roots give us a peculiar emotion. It means talking about ourselves, and about a fundamental aspect of Italian culture and its identity. Italian culture is a culture of diaspora, in a double meaning of the word. On the one hand it is a culture born from the immigration towards Italy (let’s think about the “Magna Graecia”), secondly it is a culture of emigration and mobility from Italy. The roots are therefore multiple ones, and they are intricate, rich, capable of unexpected grafts.” .. Fabio Finotti, Director IIC NY
