The “Holocaust Remembrance Day”, established by Law No. 211 of 20 July 2000, aims to commemorate the persecution of the Jewish community, as well as the deportation of Italian politicians and dissidents to Nazi camps. The date chosen for the anniversary is January 27 of each year, the day the gates of Auschwitz were opened in 1945.
