The Italian International Dance Festival is a festival that involves Italian dancers, companies and choreographers. A moment of exchange between artists of the new and old world, an “Embrace of Art” where two cultures meet to share this art. The gala evening will host a Lifetime Achievement Award.
On the first day, lessons with Italian teachers and a competition for coreographers for “AJD Emerging Choreographer,” which will allow the winner to perform in Italy during Alto Jonio Dance Festival Citta’ di Villapiana.
The second evening, a Gala, will host performances by Atzewi Dance Company, Alessandra Corona, Balletto di Bologna, Aconcoli Dance, Mare Nostrum Elements, Michael Mao Dance with an excerpt from Verdi’s Requiem for the 200th anniversary of birth of the great composer. Antonella Perazzo, winner coreographer of Choreographic Composition AJD will present her work on the company from New York, Caliince Dance, Staten Island Ballet and many other guests.
