A SOCIOANTHROPOLOGICAL TALE OF PASTA

As history shows us, the origin of pasta is neither extraordinary nor fancy as many of us had probably wished for. Indeed, instead of being a fashionable food able to please the palate, pasta was a poor and humble product created in the Imperial Rome in order to fight hunger and lack of resources.
A quick stroll through the centuries allows us to state that pasta is a typically and exclusively Italian culinary invention whose preparation and consumption has spread all over Italy due to a correlation between numerous events and historical-social conditions.
Pasta seems to have waited centuries for “the right moment” to undergo some sort of “social climbing”. In fact, pasta was waiting for a catalyst that would provide the necessary impetus toward achievement of its full potential: elevation to the status of a primary food capable not only of satisfying hunger but also of pleasing the palate.

During the event a pasta tasting experience will be offered to the guests by “Pasta Sommelier – Delverde”.
