LIBERATION ANNIVERSARY

Film screening and panel discussion

To commemorate the April 25 anniversary of Italy’s Liberation from Nazi Germany, the Italian Cultural Institute will host a film screening of Luigi Comencini’s “Tutti a casa”, featuring Alberto Sordi, and Guido Chiesa’s “Il partigiano Johnny”, based on the eponymous novel by Beppe Fenoglio. In addition to the anniversary of the Italian Liberation, the film screenings will recognize the ten-year anniversary of Alberto Sordi’s death, and the fifty-year anniversary of Beppe Fenoglio’s death.The panel will discuss the portrayal of the Italian Liberation in film and literature.
