On the occasion of the film retrospective “MoMa and Cinecittà present: Carlo Rambaldi”the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual Media of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà, will host an evening dedicated to Carlo Rambaldi, the three-time Academy Award–winning visual effects pioneer who revolutionized cinematic special effects through unforgettable creations such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Alien, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
This initiative is part of the global celebration of Rambaldi’s centenary supported by the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual Media of the Italian Ministry of Culture, and marks the opening of the retrospective devoted to Rambaldi at the Museum of Modern Art.
