To mark the closing of the exhibition Enrico Caruso: From Naples to New York, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York presents a concert celebrating the great Neapolitan tenor and the music that shaped his extraordinary career. Tenor Pietro Giuliacci and pianist Simonetta Tancredi will perform a program featuring celebrated operatic arias, Neapolitan songs, and works for solo piano.

BIO
Piero Giuliacci
Piero Giuliacci began his operatic career after studying with Liliana Pacinotti and Maria Noè Negrelli, and later refined his musical training with Giuseppe Morelli and Rolando Nicolosi. He made his stage debut in 1991 as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Flavio Vespasiano in Rieti. A prizewinner in several vocal competitions, he has performed in leading international theaters, specializing in the operas of Puccini and Verdi and working with conductors including Zubin Mehta, Nello Santi, Daniel Oren, Bruno Bartoletti, and Pinchas Steinberg.
Simonetta Tancredi is a Naples-born pianist and conductor with degrees in piano, harpsichord, choral conducting, chamber music, and orchestral conducting. She continued her training at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Mozarteum in Salzburg and has performed extensively in Italy and abroad. From 1996 to 2008, she served as a rehearsal and stage pianist at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala. She has worked with conductors including Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Chailly, and Carlo Maria Giulini, and currently teaches chamber music at the “Domenico Cimarosa” Conservatory in Avellino.
