Writing My Light
The Italian Cultural Institute of New York inaugurates mia, a solo exhibition by Italian artist and designer marionanni, bringing together works created over more than fifty years of artistic practice.
The evening will open with institutional remarks by Claudio Pagliara, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, followed by a conversation between marionanni and Chantal Meng, artist, interdisciplinary researcher, and faculty member at Parsons School of Design. The discussion will be moderated by Beatrice Caprioli, curator of the exhibition.
At the heart of the conversation is the role of light, understood not merely as a functional tool, but as an expressive medium capable of shaping our perception of space and our relationship with the world.
The exhibition will also be accompanied by an educational project developed in collaboration with Pratt Institute, as well as the launch of marionannischolé, a new international center dedicated to education and research, with the aim of passing on the artist’s knowledge and experience to future generations.
