“CINEMA CITY” – Jazz Scenes from Italian Film
by Mafalda Minnozzi

An exclusive event where Mafalda Minnozzi pays homage to Italian cinema,
accompanied on the piano by maestro Hector Martignon
and under the musical direction of Paul Ricci on guitars.

The evening promises to transport the audience on a journey through the unforgettable soundtracks of Italian cinema, enriched with new jazz interpretations. This concert draws inspiration from Mafalda Minnozzi’s namesake successful album, celebrated on international radio stations such as KJAZZ 88.1 FM in Los Angeles and WBGO in New York. The repertoire ranges from the evocative melodies of Ennio Morricone’s “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, with pieces like “Maturity”, “Love Theme”, and “Se”, to the intense “Nella Fantasia” from the soundtrack of “Mission”, also by Morricone. The event also pays tribute to composers like Nino Rota, Bruno Martino, Domenico Modugno, Paolo Conte, and Renato Carosone, creating a musical bridge between generations and stories.

With over 35 years of international career, Mafalda Minnozzi has established herself as one of the most expressive and versatile voices on the world stage. Her ability to transport the audience inside a musical story, told with transparency, honesty, and a great spirit of imagination, makes “CINEMA CITY – Jazz Scenes from Italian Film” a unique experience. Minnozzi does not merely perform the songs; she lives them, inviting every listener to share with her an emotional and cultural journey through time and space.

“CINEMA CITY – Jazz Scenes from Italian Film” stands out as a unique experience, where music becomes narrative and each note tells a fragment of Italian cinema. The evening at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York is a must-attend event for those wishing to immerse themselves in the atmospheres of films that have made history, rediscovered through jazz harmonies and the interpretative talent of Mafalda Minnozzi.
