The concert “Italy and America in Dialogue: Pizzetti, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Bernstein” is the first of five musical initiatives promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s “United in Sound: America at 250” festival.

This program explores the exchange between Italy, Europe, and America through three composers whose works embody a cultural dialogue across the Atlantic.
- Ildebrando Pizzetti: firmly rooted in Italian tradition, lyricism, and counterpoint.
- Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco: forced to emigrate to the US in 1939, because of the infamous fascist racial law, carrying with him the Mediterranean voice that later flourished in Hollywood.
- Leonard Bernstein: an American composer shaped by European and Italian models, reimagining them with unique American energy.
Together, these works show how identities in music are constantly enriched through migration, encounter, and exchange between Old and New Worlds.

Future engagements include tours in Japan, France, England, and the United States. Supported by Pirastro (Young Artist) and Steinway & Sons, they are regarded as one of the most promising ensembles of their generation, with a forthcoming CD for Brilliant Classics.
For the first time ever, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York is partnering with Carnegie Hall for the 2025–2026 season festival, United in Sound: America at 250. This ambitious, multifaceted celebration reflects on the United States 250 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Showcasing the extraordinary musical riches that have flourished across the country, the festival offers a powerful portrait of America’s vibrant cultural landscape. Through its participation, the Italian Cultural Institute will highlight the deep and enduring friendship between Italy and the United States, celebrating the artistic dialogue that continues to unite the two nations.
