A Love Story Through Italian Songs – A Valentine’s Day Concert

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, The Golden Lotus invites the audience to step into a warm, nostalgic world where love is told through songs that have traveled across time and borders.

In connection with this event,  a “Baci Contest” will take place. You are invited to send us an email at direttore.iicnewyork@esteri.it with a short sentence that you would like to find inside a Valentine’s Baci chocolate. We will select three finalists and ask the concert audience to vote live for their favorite message. A lovely surprise prize will be given to the winner.

Elena and Brenda are The Golden Lotus, a voice and piano duo that brings the glow of Italian music to the stage for a golden evening of elegance and timeless songs.

Their program is a journey through Italian love songs from the golden age of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s: some originally written in Italian, others translated to and from English, all united by unforgettable melodies and stories of longing, passion, and romance.

Elena Sartor is a singer and performer based in New York City. After moving from Italy to pursue a career in musical theatre, she has built a versatile artistic path spanning cabaret performances, theatrical productions, and educational projects. Alongside her performing career, she works as a teaching artist, sharing the performing arts and the Italian language with children through creative workshops and theatre programs.

Brenda Quattrini is an Italian pianist based in New York, known for her versatility as a performer, educator, and composer. She performs as a soloist and collaborates with singers and instrumentalists across a wide range of genres, from classical music to New Music. As a dedicated music and piano teacher, she nurtures a love of music in her young students.

She is currently developing two piano programs that highlight her dual identity: one dedicated to American composers and the other to Italian composers, with plans to present them in Italy in spring 2026 and the hope of eventually offering them to American audiences as well.
