CIMA’s inaugural installation includes works by Fabio Mauri (1926-2009) in dialogue with Fortunato Depero. This Study Day will take a closer look at the far-reaching career of conceptual and performing artist, Mauri.
In addition to a number of thought-provoking papers, there will also be a recreation of Mauri’s performance piece, L’Espressionista (1982), drawn from his Gran Serata Futurista 1909-1930 (1980), happening throughout the day. CIMA is proud to host the United States premiere of this important work.
Carlos Basualdo, Curator of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, will serve as the moderator and respondent for this event.
