Napoleon’s Piano

Napoleon’s piano – A conversation with Costantino Mastroprimiano and Ugo Casiglia.

Two hundred years after Napoleon’s death, pianist Costantino Mastroprimiano – one of the best known antique instruments players- guides us to the workshop of Ugo Casiglia, harpsichord master and restorer in Carini (Sicily), on a journey that will reveal the secrets of the keyboards of the past. We will listen to the nuances of timbres produced by those antique instruments, impossible to recreate on modern pianos.
