The program showcases the winners of The Respighi Prize (presented in cooperation with the city of Bologna, Italy). This event features the world premiere of Austrian composer Daniel Muck’s Oraculum Apollonis, and American soprano Stacey Mastrian in Respighi’s Deita Silvane and Richard Strauss’ Morgen. Also on the program is Respighi’s Serenata (from our latest Naxos CD) and Nino Rota’s Dances from Il Gattopardo (The Leopard). Rota is most well known for his scores to many Fellini films and, of course, his music to The Godfather films.
