Film Festival
This year marks the 25th anniversary of N.I.C.E. – New Italian Cinema Events in the USA, an international film series committed since its inception to showcasing and celebrating contemporary Italian cinema abroad.
NI.C.E. USA 2015 will be held in San Francisco from November 11 to 15, in Washington DC on November 16 and 17, to then move on to New York City from November 17 to 22, and wrap up in Philadelphia from December 3 to 6.
Showcasing the directorial debuts of a number of artists who have built their recognition worldwide over the years, the 25th N.I.C.E. will present a diversified selection of films in competition, offering entertainment, while opening a window on the complex architecture of Italy’s modern society.
The festival will be inaugurated at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York on Tuesday, November 17th in the presence of a selection of this year’s filmmakers, to then move on to the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo – New York University, where director Marco Pontecorvo will meet with the students and audience in attendance. On Friday, November 20th, during a gala evening at SVA Theatre – School of Visual Arts, director Marco Pontecorvo and actor John Turturro will introduce the film Partly Cloudy (With Sunny Spells), to be followed by the screening of Edoardo Falcone’s God Willing.
More events will be held at the New York Film Academy, while the 7 films in competition will be screened in historic Anthology Film Archives over the weekend of November 21-22.
