The Via D’Amelio massacre in 1992, resulting in the tragic death of Italian Judge Paolo Borsellino and his security detail, profoundly shook the city of Palermo and the whole country. A tribute to one of the most iconic anti-mafia figures, “Paolo Lives” masterfully intertwines Borsellino’s relentless pursuit of justice, (vividly portrayed by actor Bruno Torrisi), with the touching recollections of those who shared his brave journey.
Through intimate interviews, unpublished testimonies, and archival footage, this documentary not only honors Borsellino’s enduring legacy but aims to send the message to the new generations to embrace his values of integrity and courage. “Paolo Lives” is a powerful call to continue the fight against the mafia, keeping alive the memory of a man who sacrificed his life for the common good. This moving and inspiring portrait of a modern hero reminds us that true justice is a continuous and collective commitment.
