“Per te” a concert by Baron Fenwick

Music by Roberto Scarcella Perino

During the event “Per te“, Baron will perform a few piano pieces written by the Sicilian composer Roberto Scarcella Perino. It will be the world premiere of the piano suite “Gina’s Garden”. Gina’s Garden is a gift, a music gift commissioned by Patrizia Di Carrobio and dedicated to her dear friend Gina Farahnick. Patrizia thought that the best way to honor Gina’s memory was to ask Roberto Scarcella Perino to write a piece dedicated to her dear friend. Roberto decided to write a piano suite, a garden full of beautiful flowers knowing that Gina had a big passion for roses and gardens.Patrizia had a vision of a music that will outlive us all and keep Gina’s memory alive forever.

Roberto Scarcella Perino’s music has been commissioned, performed, and recorded by excellent ensembles and soloists throughout Europe, Asia, and The United States. His works include 2 piano concertos, 3 ballets, piano, choral and chamber music. Roberto wrote 5 operas: A Caval Donato (libretto by Flora Gagliardi), Verdi, Merli and Cucù (libretto by Gustavo Marchesi), Blackout (libretto by Roberta Faroldi), Furiosus (libretto by Flora Gagliardi), and A Sweet Silence in Cremona (libretto by Mark Campbell).

He is a faculty member at the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, a Clinical Associate Professor at the NYU Italian Department and the Composer in Residence at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò.  Roberto studied with the Slovenian pianist Sonja Pahor to whom he dedicated his first of his 5 Piano Sonatas. He holds degrees in Piano from the Conservatory “Corelli” in Messina, in Composition from the Conservatory Martini in Bologna, and in Musicology from the University of Bologna. He studied at Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with the composer Azio Corghi, in Milan and in Parma at Accademia Petrassi, and Conducting at the Juilliard School of Music. www.scarcellaperino.com
