“Reading in Italian” – a new series for young readers

We are pleased to launch the 2025–2026 edition of Reading in Italian, a new series of engaging sessions designed to introduce children to Italian literature and culture.

📚 Reading in Italian (Ages 6–12)
Children between the ages of 6 and 12 are invited to participate in weekly sessions featuring a curated selection of Italian books.
Each session will focus on a specific theme, and includes:

  • Readings from Italian children’s literature
  • Guided discussions
  • Creative, hands-on activities to enrich the storytelling experience

When: Every Saturday at 10:00 AM
Where: Italian Cultural Institute of New York

The first session will take place on Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 AM. Children aged 6 to 12, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are welcome to attend this special opening event.

🎵 Musicali si Nasce (Ages 0–6)

For our youngest audience, the Institute also presents Musicali si Nasce, a monthly musical experience for children aged 0 to 6. This program is designed to foster early socialization and development through the universal language of music.

Led by Claudia Calì, Assistant Professor of Music Education at Queens College, the sessions encourage participation from both children and their caregivers.

When: Once a month, beginning Saturday, October 11 at 10:00 AM
