The Institute hosts the presentation of the exhibition “Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses,” with curator Darnell-Jamal Lisby, Associate Curator of Fashion, Cleveland Museum of Art.
The event will provide a preview of the upcoming exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art (from November 9, 2025, to February 1, 2026). The exhibition highlights a fascinating and unexpected dialogue between the timeless elegance of Italian Renaissance art and the contemporary excellence of Buccellati fine jewelry.
A virtuoso blend that highlights how beauty, when authentic, transcends the barriers of time, merging past and present in a single narrative of style, art, and refinement.
Buccellati jewelry pieces that will be in the exhibition will be on view, and several digital stations will showcase some of the exhibition’s key themes, including “Filippino Lippi in Rome” and “Pinturicchio Magnified: An Immersive Conservation Experience.”
Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses is the most extensive, comprehensive fashion exhibition to date organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art, including approximately 120 fashions and accessories and examining the inspirations of social, cultural, and artistic elements of the Italian Renaissance, Mannerist, and Early Baroque periods as witnessed in the creative imagery of Italian modern and contemporary fashion.
– The event is also on the occasion of the New York Fashion Week (September 11-16)
