Outstanding Italian Women Series - Monica Mandelli

The last talk of the series is with Monica Mandelli.

Monica Mandelli earned a BS and MS summa cum laude in Economics and Social Science from Milan’s Università Bocconi and an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard Business School. She started her career working first at Merrill Lynch in London, in their mergers & acquisitions group, and then at McKinsey & Company in New York. She afterwards joined Goldman Sachs as Head of its publishing and information services sector and of the theatrical exhibition sector, having broad coverage responsibility for many media clients. In 2007 she became Managing Director and served as global head of the bank’s family office coverage and strategic relationship management group within the investment banking division; at Goldman Sacks, where she stayed 17 years, she was also co-Head of the Firm-wide Women’s network to increase networking opportunities and access to senior management for junior businesswomen in the banking sector. In 2015 Mandelli joined KKR as a member of the KKR Capital Markets team, where she works across Capital Markets and the Client and Partner Group to focus on how to provide flexible capital solutions and strategic advice to leading families around the world.

She serves on the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, the Women’s Leadership Board at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Bocconi Alumni Association Board, the Board of Trustees of Horace Mann School and the Board of Directors of Endeavor Italy. Ms. Mandelli is also a member of the Brookings Council.

Commenting on her professional life she has said: “I’ve always thought women were undervalued and knew it was important for a woman, if she had the desire and capability, to try to have a big career.”
