Enrico Pieranunzi Trio -- Tribute to Fellini

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Federico Fellini, one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. A larger-than-life maestro who created an inimitable cinematic style combining surreal carnival with incisive social critique.

Our celebration of his genius includes this musical tribute by one of the greatest pianist of the Italian Jazz scene: Enrico Pieranunzi. Maestro Pieranunzi with Luca Bulgarelli (doublebass) and Mauro Beggio (drums) will revisit, with a Jazz twist, the most memorable soundtracks of Fellini’s greatest movies, from I Vitelloni to La Strada, and form Amarcord to La Dolce Vita.

Enrico Pieranunzi was born in Rome in 1949 and has for many years been among the most significant and well-known protagonists of the international Jazz scene. A pianist, composer, and arranger, he has recorded more than 70 albums under his own name, ranging from piano solo to trio, from duo to quintet. He has collaborated, either live or in the studio, with Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, Charlie Haden, Chris Potter, Marc Johnson, and Joey Baron.
