SYNOPSIS
Pietro and Bruno meet as children in a small mountain village in the Aosta Valley and form a friendship that will shape their lives. As the years pass, their paths diverge: Bruno remains deeply rooted in the mountains, while Pietro leaves, returns, and continues searching for his place in the world.
Against the majestic backdrop of the Italian Alps, The Eight Mountains is a moving story of friendship, identity, memory, and our profound connection to the places that shape us.
THE CONCEPT
Hidden Gems of Italy is a film festival featuring three films set in some of Italy’s lesser-known landscapes, with the aim of encouraging a more conscious way of discovering these places—one that combines appreciation with preservation. Alongside Le otto montagne (The Eight Mountains) the festival features Le città di pianura (The Last One for the Road) and Le otto montagne (The Eight Mountains).
