“Italian Young Lions” – Just in Time
The Italian Cultural Institute of New York presents Just in Time, a brand-new project by Davide Cerreta dedicated to the timeless tradition of the classic American songbook.
The evening will feature an outstanding ensemble of internationally acclaimed musicians: Davide Cerreta on piano and voice, Stacy Dillard on saxophone, Daniel Sky on trumpet, Stefano Battaglia on upright bass, and Michael Ode on drums.
The concert, part of the fifth edition of the Peperoncino Jazz Festival New York Session – Italianity, celebrates the dialogue between Italian musical creativity and the great American jazz tradition. It will also include a tasting of typical Calabrian products and wines, offering the audience a cultural experience that combines music, heritage, and regional excellence.
A special guest appearance by Joie Bianco, one of the most promising young voices on the New York and international jazz scene, will further enrich the evening.
With Just in Time, Davide Cerreta returns to the elegance and warmth of the great standards made famous by legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others. Blending swing, timeless melodies, and refined musical storytelling, the project promises an evening of sophistication, joy, and heartfelt tribute to the golden era of jazz.
Bio
Davide Cerreta is a singer, pianist, and professor at Berklee College of Music. He has performed extensively across the East and West Coasts of the United States, as well as in South America, Central America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. His work combines deep knowledge of jazz tradition with a fresh and contemporary artistic sensibility.
