Project Talmud: A Challenge Successfully Met

TALMUD – orizzontale4

The Talmud Project represents the first complete Italian translation of the Babylonian Talmud, carried out with the scientific support of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), within the framework of a memorandum of understanding involving the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Union of Italian Jewish Communities.

The result of more than fifteen years of work, the project combines philological rigor, scientific research, and technological innovation, making one of the foundational texts of Jewish tradition and Western civilization accessible in the Italian language.

The event at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York introduces to the American cultural and academic community an initiative that places Italy among the few countries in the world to have produced a complete translation of the Babylonian Talmud.
