The Italian Cultural Institute in New York

The film presents the story of a 12-year-old boy who becomes one of Italy’s most prominent basketball figures of all time, Sandro Gamba. It narrates the suffering and hard work that led Italy to win its first Gold Medal at the European Basketball Championship, in 1983. And it also tells the story behind the extraordinary coach Sandro Gamba, and two exceptional players, Cesare Rubini and Dino Menghin, who represent Italy in the American Basketball Hall of Fame.
A Q&A session with director Massimiliano Finazzer Flory will follow the screening.
