Miss “I’m Too Young”, Gigliola Cinquetti, as someone who was too young to die at just twenty-four.
A talk show from the other world: a ping-pong between the past and the present that delves and investigates with flair and humour, offering a multifaceted portrait of Dante, his era, and the woman he loved. One of the insights presented is that Beatrice was the true “screen woman”, compared with Dante’s great love for the Italian language. In an age of haters and relentless divisions, the aim is to bring back to life a literary and moral genre that has been overshadowed: dialogue, inspired by Dante’s use of words and neologisms of great power. In this performance, between identification and a game of mirrors, Gigliola Cinquetti will surprise the audience with singing performances and surprise videos.
BIO
Gigliola Cinquetti. Winner in 1964 and 1966 of the “Sanremo Festival” with the songs “Non ho l’età” and “Dio come ti amo”. Winner in 1964 of the Eurovision Song Contest – today Eurovision Song Contest. Runner-up at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975. Gigliola Cinquetti has released records all over the world – in 12 countries, translating her hits into eight different languages, from Japanese, to German, to English, to French, Dutch and more. Today, she returns to the Italian public through a new and original musical project in theatres entitled “Gigliola a teatro”.
Ennio Cavalli, as a correspondent for Giornale Radio Rai, has covered Nobel Prizes, Oscars, and the film festivals of Cannes, Venice, Berlin, and Moscow. Among his books on journalism are “Dei paesi tuoi” (from Fellini to Giorgio Armani, the “greats” of Emilia-Romagna), “Il romanzo del Nobel”, and “Ci dice tutto il nostro Inviato”. As a writer, he has won important national and international awards: Viareggio, Campiello, and the White Raven of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek in Munich. His latest books of poetry are titled: “Se ero più alto facevo il poeta“, “Amore manifesto“, “Il silenzio è migliore di me“. The corpus of nine dialogues with figures from myth and antiquity, of which “Beatrice“ is a part, has also become a book: “Nove dialoghi e due sedie” (Edizioni Industria e Letteratura 2026). In an age of haters and relentless divisions, Cavalli brings back into the spotlight a literary and moral genre that has fallen into obscurity: dialogue, indeed.
