A limited number of scholarships to study Italian in Italy are offered each year by Italian language schools and centers through the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. These scholarships cover enrollment at universities, schools, academies, and centers that teach Italian to foreigners. Applications are also posted for competitions related to Italian society and culture. The Institute is not responsible for the quality of the programs offered by the various institutions listed below. Please verify the information directly on the relevant website; it may differ from the Institute’s website. This page is regularly updated. If the scholarship requires the Institute to send documentation, the application must be submitted at least 10 days before the official application deadline. Limitations

To be eligible for the selection process, candidates must reside within the Institute’s area of ​​expertise. Students are asked to visit the schools’ websites for all relevant information on the courses and services offered. The Italian Cultural Institute assumes no responsibility for the quality of the courses and services offered by the center where students will receive their scholarship. However, the Institute encourages scholarship recipients to write or compile a brief final report on their experience in Italy, evaluating the educational and organizational aspects of the center where they received their scholarship.

Travel and accommodation expenses

Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the recipients, who will be assisted on site in finding suitable accommodation by the same schools, academies, and centers offering the scholarship.

Communications

Once the scholarships have been assigned, all communications and relationships will take place exclusively between the scholarship recipient and the center offering them, without the intermediation of the Institute.

Criteria
Priority will be given to Italian teachers and students of Italian language and culture, as well as anyone interested in studying Italian for professional and cultural purposes. All scholarships are awarded exclusively on merit.

How and when to apply

You can submit your application electronically no later than 10 days before the start date of the course you wish to attend in Italy. The application must include the application form (see above), a CV, and, if possible, two letters of recommendation from professors or academic authorities.
